TUTO CHANGING THE BRAKE DRUM OF YOUR MOPED

HOW TO CHANGE YOUR BRAKE DRUM OR FLANGE

1) Unscrew the wheel axle nut.

2) Loosen the chain tensioners using the spanner.

3) Raise your moped using the jack.

4) Using the mallet, tap the wheel axle.

5) Loosen the wheel axle so you can push the wheel.

6) Remove the chain from its crown.

7) Release the brake cable.

11) Remove the brake drum. Clean any dust (if any) from the hub using a dry cloth or brush.

11) Install the new drum or flange.

11) Replace the spacer and first nut.

11) Place the wheel on the swing arm.

11) Return the chain to the crown.

11) Replace the brake cable.

11) Replace the chain tensioner and nut.

11) Tighten the chain tensioners on each side.

11) Check the chain tension. To be sure that the chain is well stretched, measure the length of the tensioners, in order to have the same on each side.

11) Tighten the wheel axle nuts on each side.

11) Remove the jack. Remember to check the tension of the brake cable.

Installing a new brake drum or flange is quite simple, but requires patience and precision. Remember that your safety is at stake.
