Braking is a complex and vital element, car the braking system must allow you to reduce the speed of your moped, to stop in a minimum of time and distance. This drum brake is still used, thanks to its simplicity of manufacture, often to brake the rear on scooters. The drum brake is simple in design, it is made up of three parts: the drum, the jaws and the jaw holder flange.
The brake drum is the cylinder that sits in the center of the wheel. The inner surface of the drum constitutes the braking track. Being integral with the wheel, it turns with it.
The flange closes the drum. It contains the drum jaws, cam and return springs and the control system.
A drum brake has its limits, since beyond XNUMX km/hour it becomes ineffective!
