Leatt helmets feature 360° Turbine technology, this system consists of a lining of several turbines, which are discs constructed from an energy-absorbing material designed to allow the head to move slightly inside the helmet during a crash, reducing rotational, direct and deflection impact energy. This technology has two essential advantages: the reduction of rotational acceleration of the head and brain and the absorption of energy during impact at the level of the commotion.

The Leatt 8.5 helmet is also equipped with a visor release system to let it detach in the event of a fall and thus reduce the forces exerted on the head and neck during an accident. It also has an emergency cheek pad removal system.
