AMSOIL Inc. is an American company that primarily formulates and packages synthetic lubricants, fuel additives and filters. The founder of the company, Albert J. Amatuzio, developed several synthetic motor oil formulations during his career as an Air Force pilot.

In 1972, synthetic engine oil AMSOIL 10W-40 became the world's first synthetic motor oil to meet the requirements of theAmerican Petroleum Institutee, which prompted the company to adopt "The First in Synthetics®" as its slogan. The company introduced several other synthetic lubricants that represented industry firsts throughout the 1970s and early 1980s.
