Troubleshooting > Failures par brand > HONDA > A warning light lights up on my HONDA motorcycle
There are 2 kinds of indicator lights on the instrument panel: the red ones and the others. Red lights are danger indicators. It is important to deal with it quickly. The other warning lights are information for the pilot (lights, full headlight, neutral, turn signals…).
When the engine temperature exceeds the set limit epar the manufacturer, this light remains on. Here are several likely problems:
- The level of coolant is too low: put some more
- The fan does not turn: check the power supply to it.
Le thermostat (thermostat) no longer works: test it in a pan of hot water. It should open when the water begins to boil. This operation requires a certain mechanical expertise in order to carry it out. Also we advise you to get closer to a professional.
- Your radiator is scaled up: descale with a suitable product.
- La water pump does not work anymore. replace it
- Your light is on, the radiator is warm, the temperature sensor is defective. replace it
This warning light remains on when the oil pressure is insufficient, when the oil level isoil is less than the fixed limit epar the constructor.
- The level ofoil is too low. Give it back.
- The temperature sensor wire may be faulty: disconnect it, if the light stays on, the problem comes from the electrical installation.
- La oil pump no longer works: replace it (Caution, the motor may have suffered serious damage).
This light stays on when the charging circuit is faulty. On some motorcycles the warning light comes on when starting and idling. First, charge your battery. If the problem persists, consider replacing it.
Check that the connection cable is not damaged. Disassemble the contactor, operate it by hand. Check that it slides well and that the contact cuts well with a multimeter.
Universally symbolized on all motorcycles par a green warning light marked "N" (for neutral or neutral) on the instrument panel, it marks the position of the gearbox which disconnects the engine from the transmission, whatever or the position of the clutch and its lever.
