A bit of history on Malaguti

Malaguti is an Italian scooter and motorcycle manufacturing company founded in 1930 in Bologna. Antonio Malaguti (racing cyclist) starts par the bicycle trade, then became a manufacturer.

Motorized two-wheeler production began in the mid-1950s with the M, an economical moped comprising a bicycle frame and a two-stroke engine.

Malaguti will produce motorcycles with 2 cc 50-stroke engines, first equipped with a two-speed German engine and then with the engine franc Morini to the three-, then four-, then five-speed gearbox. This youthful-looking production includes "urban" type models, such as the Fifty, and more sporty "road" and "road" type models.cross”, it will last until the end of the 1970s. Like other builders, Malaguti will then move into the production of scooters.

In 1994, the model Phantom is launched. Production will stop in 2007.

In 2003, Malaguti takes the path of the racing circuits, participating in the Championnat of the 125cc world and races on circuits like the Suzuka.

For the last 75 years, Malaguti has manufactured more than two million cc-50cc motorcycles. The current production of mopeds is done at the production site minarelli. The synergy of many years between Ducati et Malaguti enabled the latter to design and produce branded replicas Ducati Corse.

In October 2011, the company stops production and ends its activities.

At the end of 2018, the Austrian group KSR buys the brand from the family Malaguti and is relaunching a line of 5 motorcycles and a 125 scooter. Malaguti is reborn from its ashes and success is again at the rendezvous.

In 2020, the brand presented a range of 1000 cc motorcycles and 100 scooter models (one 1000 cc and one 100 cc).
