A bit of history on PMT

The history of the Italian tire manufacturer PMT dates back to the fifties. Umbro Pauselli was then manufacturing tire prototypes for remote-controlled cars. It used real rubber compounds instead of the foam tires available at the time.

At first, the company only produced tires for the model making sector, but due to the good results obtained, it continued its research in order to produce real vulcanized rubber tires.

At the start of the 90s, pocket bikes became increasingly popular and the first tires for these machines appeared. At the time, the Italian firm was already betting on radial technology, which is still used today. Thanks to the exceptional quality of its products, the three-letter brand PMT quickly became the market leader for small racing tires (up to 6,5 inches).

In 2003, PMT was uploaded by Sauber-BMW to manufacture small tires Formula 1 for wind tunnel testing. Thanks to the knowledge thus acquired, PMT embarked on the development of 10-inch and 12-inch tires that are regularly found on competition scooters.

PMT still manufactures mini model tires, but also competition tires for pocket bikes, scooters, motorcycles and even recently for electric scooters (and yes, since there are now competitions, we had to get started!) . In total, the transalpine firm produces around 50 tires each year.

As the official tire supplier of several championships, PMT is an expert at meeting the needs of top level motorsport disciplines and delivering an exceptional product. Competition is in his DNA and allows him to take up any type of challenge.
