A bit of history on Motori Minarelli

Minarelli Engines is an Italian combustion engine manufacturer since 1951. Vittorio Minarelli et franc Morini together founded the company FBM (Fabrica Bolognese Motori). From 1956, Vittorio Minarelli abandons the production of motorcycles to concentrate on the manufacture of mopeds and engines for motorcycles. That same year, the two founders put an end to their collaboration. Minarelli then founded FB Minarelli and produced engines for agricultural machinery

After developing the P4 and P6 engines in the 1960-1970 years, the MINARELLI AM engine is developed. The company then supplied most European manufacturers. Production increases to 700 thousand unitsspar year and the workforce reached 500 employees.

There were several versions, AM3 (3 speeds), AM4 (4 speeds), AM5 (5 gears) and finally AM6 euro 1 (6 speeds, aluminum or cast iron cylinder depending on series, Ø28mm exhaust outlet) & Minarelli AM6 euro 2 (6 speeds, cast iron cylinder, Ø25mm exhaust outlet).

At the beginning of 2020, the two-wheel market suffered a sharp decline due to the saturation of the segment and the difficult economic situation.

From 2002 to 2021, Minarelli Engines is part of the group Yamaha, allowing him to continue his research with the support of the engineers of Yamaha. End 2020, Fantic acquires Minarelli Engines with the aim of developing the current ranges and preparing for the electric future.

At the 2021 Milan Motor Show, the 300 cc engine for competitions is presented, a very nice surprise for the 70 years of the company.

Mars 2022, Bardahl Italia and Motori Minarelli have signed an agreement for the supply of first fill lubricants, fluids and additives for the three-year period 2022-2024.
