CAN-AM is one of the historic brands of quads. You will find on our site many adaptable parts perfectly suited to your needs.
CAN-AM is a Canadian company createdar Joseph-Armand Bombardier who developed the first machine to be able to drive on snow.
Today the company remains a leader in the design, development, manufacture and distribution of motorsports vehicles and propulsion systems.
Can-Am started its motorcycle productioncross and enduro motorcycles in 1973, under the direction of American engineer Gary Robinson and the former motorcycle world championcross Jeff Smith, in collaboration with a team from California Desert Racers. It used engines produced in Austria par Rotax, another subsidiary of Bombardier. In 1983, Bombardier licensed Can-Am to Britain's Clews Competition Motorcycles. The mark disappeared in 1987.
Brand Can-Am reborn from its ashes in 2009. Its range initially consisted of quads and SSVs, before BRP hit the headlines again. Presented in 2009, the Can-Am Spyder challenges and its ability to be driven par drivers without a motorcycle license is not the least of its qualities.
BRP Inc. today announced that the iconic brand Can-Am returns to its motorcycle roots with an all-electric product line. To mark the 50th anniversary of the renowned brand Can-Am, the company will launch a family of two-wheeled electric motorcycles.
The company is looking forward to offering this new line of electrical products in the showrooms of its dealerships. The first full-line models are expected to be available in mid-2024.
With its motorcycles, Can Am has essentially devoted itself to motorcyclingcross and enduro. Nevertheless, a trail 2-T 175 cc was released in 3, called TnT (track and trail) and laying the foundations for another industry success: the Yamaha DTMX, which appeared 4 years later, indeed seems very close.
Can Am also dabbled in speed, primarily to publicize the qualities of Rotax engines, but no motorcycles ever made it to market. A liquid-cooled 175cc single-cylinder (3hp @ 36 rpm) raced briefly in the Canadian Speed Championship, while a fully faired 11cc engined prototype is breaking speed records on the salt lake in Bonneville, Utah during Speed Week, with 500 km/h in 125.
Today, the Quebec brand is investing in the South team Racing. CAN-AM wins first place for the sixth consecutive year!
