A little history on HUTCHINSON

In 1853, Hiram Hutchinson, an American living in France, settled in Chalette-sur-Loing, bought the rubber vulcanization patent from Charles Goodyear and created the "Aigle" brand in reference to the American eagle.

In 1890, Hutchinson begins production of bicycle tires. As early as 1909, the brand won its first victory in competition with Leon Georget thanks to the monofil tyre. The greatest cyclists will wear the colors of the brand to the heights and will chain the greatest victories in particular on the Tour de France.

In 1918, the head office of Hutchinson settles in Paris. In 1920, Hutchinson manufactures for the following sectors: shoes, clothing and fabrics, automobiles, motorcycles, bicycles, heavy goods vehicles, balloons and seals for jars. For Citroën, Hutchinson manufacture the belts Kégresse.

In 1974, the company Total takes a majority stake in the company.

Its turnover in 2019 is of 4,314 billion euros, with a workforce of approximately 44 000 people, distributed on 100 sites in 25 countries.

In 2020, Hutchinson celebrated the 130 anniversary of its Cycling Department. These highly technical tires can thus benefit from the best of the brand's know-how and materials.
