A bit of history on Aprilia

Aprilia is an Italian brand founded in 1945 that manufactured bicycles. In 1968, the first prototype of 50cm3 is created. It is very well received par the public. The first large-scale models produced were "Colibri", "Daniela" and "Packi".

The all-terrain " Scarabeo is presented in 1970 version 50 and 125cm3. The model will be marketed for 10 years.

The brand is enjoying great success outside Italy with the production of 12 vehicles in 000. With the crisis, Aprilia is redirecting its production towards larger displacement road models and is expanding its enduro range and trial.

Aprilia has always been very involved in competition especially on the speed GP in 125 and 250 cm3. Since its first participation in 1977, Aprilia has won many awards with pilots such as Biaggi, Caprioso, Locatelli and Rossi. It is one of the most successful brands with 54 world titles.

After a few years of absence, Aprilia returns to GP in 2017.
