Troubleshooting > Failures par brand > HONDA > The rearview mirror of my 50cc HONDA motorcycle has a problem
Le mirror on your HONDA 50cc is essential for your safety and mandatory in the eyes of the law. It allows you to control what is happening behind you and prevent accidents.
Le mirror is composed of several parts:
1) The baseplate (located on the handlebars or fairing).
2) The rod.
3) The mirror and its protective shell.
The mirror can loosen with speed and vibration. Have you tried to tighten it with a spanner but nothing works? Does it keep loosening?
You can use a Lock nut . The braking device is incorporated into the nut in the form of a nylon ring crimped at one end. As the nut is tightened, the thread forms in the nylon insert which provides retention. The thread of the mirror left has a standard pitch. the mirror straight often has a reverse thread.
The arm of the mirror has a threaded rod that screws into the base of the mirror. There is also a nut which comes on this rod to counter the nut and thus block the mirror in the correct position.
There is also the solution of thread lock. Choose a thread lock de force medium (blue) which will prevent the screws from loosening with vibration and allow disassembly.
