Motorcycle Show â € “Milan EICMA 2022

After a shy edition of 2021, the EICMA returns from November 10 to 13 for its 79th edition.

A real Mecca for two-wheelers, the EICMA is undoubtedly the most eagerly awaited annual European show from the public as well as from that of the manufacturers who come in large numbers to present their new products. And 2022 will be no exception, with plenty of new machines on the program presented, including on the French side.

Official figures announce more than 1300 brands coming from more than 43 countries. 6 exhibitor pavilions. 530 thousand visitors expected.

The brands kept the suspense on the novelties and communicated only on their presence at the Show.

News from the EICMA 2022 show

The Milan show (Eicma) is the unmissable event of the year. The whole motorcycle planet then turns to the great Milanese exhibition to discover all the new motorcycles and scooters of the following vintage. Without betraying any secrets, we can already tell you that more than 20 new releases are expected. And this number should logically increase.

For its arrival on the electric mobility market, Honda relies on an urban model designed to appeal to young customers looking for a means of transport that is both simple and efficient. The Honda EM1 e electric scooter features the "Honda Mobile Power Pack e", with an electric motor and a removable battery. A single charge provides a range of approximately 40 km, with an MPP battery pack (Mobile Power Pack). It is Honda's first electric two-wheeler for Europe, but also the first following Honda's announcement to offer at least 10 electric models by 2025. A scooter that strongly resembles the one marketed in China under the name of U-Go. The best-selling two-wheeler in France in 2021 and 2022, the scooter Honda Forza 125 takes advantage of its 2023 vintage to treat itself to a minor facelift. In addition to its revised front face Forza 750, 125 cc scooter gets a new dashboard.

As compatriots of Honda, Suzuki et Yamaha also participate in the EICMA 2022, a lot of attention especially for the latter, who will take advantage of the Milanese podium to show the eBike range alongside the last R125.

Kawasaki also unveiled a hyb motorcycle prototyperide, able to switch quickly and easily from its combustion engine to its electric motor, and which should join the range in 2024. And the brand went even further by being the first to present an experimental hydrogen engine that would take place in an H2. A motorcycle that would not fail to attract all curiosity and could really make history if the brand went to the end of its ideas.

Peugeot Motorcycles unveils many novelties during this edition of the Milan show. to start par the XP 400, a maxi-scooter typed urban SUV. Available in two versions, Allure and GT, it is positioning itself in a rapidly expanding market category. We were able to discover the new Peugeot e-Streetzone, a 100% electric scooter equivalent to 50cc and with a range of more than 100 km. The other major novelty concerns the return to force of the lion brand in the motorcycle segment. The PM-01 125 cm3, also available in 300 cm3, is ready to challenge more and more competition. Ambitious bet!

Absent at the last motorcycle show in November 2021, Ducati is present at the EICMA 2022, the opportunity for all the undisputed fans of the brand to discover all the novelties, in particular the new Streetfighter V4 and SP2, the Panigale V4 R, the Multistrada the Monster SP or even the Diavel V4.

During the 2021 edition of the EICMA, the Dragster was for a 125, 4 stroke, 15 horsepower, which was not super capable but in line with the legislation unlike the other version which is 200cc with 3 horsepower. But this year Italjet adds a new layer with its 500cc model while maintaining its symbolic design with the famous trellis frame and that mono-swinging arm front end.

Fantic has lifted the veil on its new 2023 range. In addition to extending its enduro range, the Italian brand is unveiling its very first electric scooter. Announced through a first concept presented a year ago, the Fantic Electric is reminiscent of the philosophy of Askoll electric scooters. Mounted on 16-inch wheels and animated par a mid-engined 3kW engine, the craft is available in both 1 and 1 km/h and 45 km/h versions.

A giant of the two-wheeler industry with nearly 14 million electric scooters sold worldwide, Yadea is now targeting the electric motorcycle market with its Keeness VFD. A motorcycle equipped with a 10 kW engine developing a torque of 280 Nm for a maximum speed of 100 km/h, powered by par two removable 2,3 kWh lithium batteries weighing only 14 kg. A motorization that offers the motorcycle a frank acceleration: 0 to 50 km/h in 4 seconds. On the autonomy side, the manufacturer promises 140 kilometers at a speed of 40 km/h, which in mixed use should melt the autonomy between 70 and 90 km. The Yadea electric motorcycle is also equipped with an energy recovery system during deceleration phases.
