Le gripster is the essential element for all motorcycles of cross and enduro. The gripster allows the tire to be clamped against the rim so that it does not rotate on the rim during the overshoot.
The gripster is a part that prevents punctures. The gripster prevents the inner tube from rotating and pinching. Pinching usually results in a slow flat. Once the gripster is installed, it holds the inner tube on the sidewall of the rim and in its housing, which is the tire.
The gripster is a small optional accessory that can be quite useful. Indeed, no motorcycle has an original gripster, it is an accessory that you buy separately to add it to your motorcycle. It simply allows you to hold your tire securely on the rim of the motorcycle. This is very effective in preventing the tire from slipping on the rim!
The size of the gripsters expressed in inches corresponds to the width of the rim, not to that of the tire. If the rear rim is 2.15 x 18 (it's engraved on it) it will need a grispter in 2.15.
1.40 : Before 65cc to 250cc. Rear 65cc and 85cc small wheels.
1.60 : Before 65cc to 525cc. Rear 65cc and 85cc small wheels.
1.85 : Rear 85cc big wheels. Rear 125cc 2cc Temps and 250cc 4 Temps. Rear 150cc 4cc Temps.
2.15 : Rear 250/300cc 2 Temps and 350/450cc 4 Temps.
2.50 : Rear for wide rim as par example Trails big cars.
The use of a gripster is very interesting car it helps to avoid punctures as much as possible. The principle of this part is that it holds the tire on the rim to prevent it from rotating. Simply put, the wheel gripster holds the sidewalls of the tire against the rim. This part protects your valve during sudden gas strokes on machines with high power.
Don't take any risks and install a gripster on the rims of your dirt bike!
To mount the gripster on your wheel, you must already remove the latter. Once this is done, you have to remove your tire. Then you have to drill the rim in order to be able to put the gripster on it. We advise you to drill the rim in front of the valve, on the opposite side, as well as where the spokes do not cross. Then fix the gripster using the bolts, without tightening it. Indeed, if you block it, you will not be able to pass your tire.
Once everything is in place, put the tire back on the wheel. Lift the gripster to glue the tire to the rim and fold the gripster over it. Tighten the gripster nut if necessary.
Fitting or removing a tire with gripster does not pose a major problem: place it on the rim before putting on the first sidewall of the tire, put a nut on the screw of the gripster on a few threads and the nut is pushed against the rim when mounting the tire.
If you want to avoid the puncture, another tip, use a rim tape. The latter will protect the chamber opposite the wheel spoke head. So if you want to avoid a wasted afternoonar a puncture, have the reflex gripster et rim tape !
