what is the Mob Cross ?

The idea is to confront the machines on a circuit varying from grassy, ​​muddy, dusty terrain, dotted with multiple technical difficulties, chicanes, downforce turns, mogul jumps. The Mob-cross is above all a discipline which allows you to get your hands on mechanics and piloting, all in a friendly atmosphere.

Thanks to the action of Motobécane many Mob clubs cross have emerged everywhere in France but also in Belgium and Italy.

The mobcross Motobécane from 2000 to 2000 preceded the French championship which took place from 2000 to 2000.

We should not think that the possibility of climbing steep slopes and overcoming obstacles is within the reach of everyone and of a standard moped, straight from the factory. The machines require special preparation for Mob events-cross.

The mob cross is made up of a series of all-terrain events reserved for mopeds (from the Motobécane brand). It takes place on dirt circuits, the layout and the difficulties are compatible with the possibilities of the machines.

Who can participate? All types of mopeds with or without variator but with the exception of models with mechanical gearbox.

All modifications are authorized to adapt the vehicle to off-road events provided that safety standards are respected; only the engine must remain standard.

Over the years, the rules have evolved, so other brands can participate.

Simplification of Mob categoriescross since 2023

The simplification of the number of categories is a readjustment, a consequence of the drop in the number of Mob participantscross few years ago. Categories A1, A2, B, C and D therefore leave room for a classification into four groups: Promotion, G1,G2 and G3.

The Pro categorymotion results from a merger between the A2 group and A1, which were the subject of a separate classification until then. A1 represents mopeds mounted with mudguards and tires cross. Small engine adjustments and safety reinforcements are necessary for this category which is the most financially accessible. The A2 Group also allows some engine modifications such as an adaptable exhaust, preparation of the carburetor, a few strokes of the file on the cylinder are tolerated for more power.

Group 2 (G2, former group C): More power and the massification of mécaboîtes, the machines which best meet the needs of competitors.

Group D becomes Group 3 again: The only restriction is that of engine capacity! The G3 category allows kits and displacements can go up to 80-100cc.

Nostalgic people, collectors and fans of motor sports meet regularly to take part in these friendly competitions to perform skids in the curves and beautiful flights over the bumps, intended to mark the endurance of the crews.

The mob cross the oldest is Mob Cross Lehec from the Lycée Lehec in St Hilaire du Harcouet. Since 2009, teachers and students have competed in ingenuity and hacking to build mobs capable of winning endurance in sometimes difficult and muddy conditions. In 2010, the 20th edition of the race took place on the circuit of ST Hilaire du Harcouet.

Le team Cap MX Racing is very present on the Mob circuits-cross and participates in numerous competitions in France. They also organize moped rides and demonstrations of this discipline which still remains confidential. In 2009, they participated in our Mob Show where they excited visitors with magnificent Mob demonstrations-Cross.
