Ce tutorial aims at you help change the piston cylinder, seals and rings from your 50 to box thanks to pics and explanations associated. In this example we used a K engineSR GENERIC. Discover our range of cylinder and pistons.
Note: Following the change of the piston cylinder of your typical mécaboîte engine AM6, we strongly advise you to carry out a break-in of 500 km to ensure optimal engine operation!

Necessary material:
1) Drain the coolant by removing the tank bleed screw.
2) Open the tank cap to draw in air.
3) Let the liquid flow into the drain pan.
4) Replace the bleed screw for coolant.
5) Remove the 2 coolant hoses.
6) Remove the springs from the exhaust.
7) Remove the brackets securing the exhaust pipe to the front.
8) Remove the mounting brackets from the rear exhaust.
9) Remove the muffler.
11) Remove the suppressor.
11) Remove the temperature probe.
11) Remove the candle.
11) Loosen the cylinder head screws with the ratchet (4 nuts and 4 washers).
11) Remove the bolt, using the mallet if necessary.
11) Remove the cylinder.
11) Place a clean rag to prevent the piston clips from falling into the bottom of the engine.
11) Remove a piston clip.
11) Remove the piston pin and the piston.
11) Remove the needle cage.
11) Replace the studs if they left at the same time as the cylinder.
11) Clean the base with a clean cloth.
11) Install the new rings on the piston.
The black segment (sealing) is placed at the bottom.
The gray (fire) segment is placed at the top.
11) Place a clip on the piston.
11) Install the new needle cage. Lubricate it sufficiently with engine oil.
11) Install the new piston pin and piston, adding engine oil.
IMPORTANT: the arrow on the piston must point towards the front of the engine.
11) Install the other piston clip.
11) Remove the cloth.
11) Install the new base gasket.
11) Install the new cylinder. Put some engine oil in the cylinder.
11) Tighten the segments so that they penetrate well into the cylinder.
11) Install the new cylinder head gaskets.
Tip: a little grease on the cylinder head keeps the seals in place.
11) Install the cylinder head (4 washers and 4 nuts).
11) Tightening torque wrench : 18 NM. (4 washers and 4 nuts).
11) Make a cross tightening
11) Replace the temperature probe, spark plug and suppressor.
11) Replace the coolant hoses. Tighten the collars
11) Replace the exhaust pipe, starting at par Springs.
11) Then reattach to the mounting tabs.
11) Fill up with coolant.
Replacing the piston cylinder of your 50cc box is quite complicated. You must be patient in order to properly perform this intervention. You will find on our website a large number of cylinder and pistons, or even engine kits for KSR GENERIC, HANWAY .....
As with any change of engine parts, a break-in of approximately 500 kilometers is strongly recommended.
