Ce tutorial aims at you help replace the transmission of your scooter.
Changing transmission is a long and delicate operation that requires patience, concentration and a tools adapted. Hidden behind a whole set of pieces (clutch bell, clutch et hub), it is necessary to disassemble the transmission casing to finally access the cogs allowing the rear wheel to operate.

Necessary material:
1) Unscrew the screws from the kickstarter casing, finishing par the middle one. Remove the casing
2) Remove the noise suppressor
3) Unscrew the candle
4) Install the piston lock in place of the spark plug
5) At the cylinder, remove the nuts from the muffler
6) Detach the mounting bracket
7) Remove the pot completely
8) Loosen the rear wheel
9) Raise the engine using the jack
11) Remove the rear wheel
11) Loosen the wheel hub nut using the impact wrench
11) Remove the rear brake caliper
11) Remove the brake disc and the rear hub
11) Drain the transmission oil by removing the drain plug
11) Open the filler cap so that the draining is done correctly
11) Loosen the clutch housing nut using the impact wrench
11) Remove the clutch and release the belt
11) Unscrew the 6 screws from the transmission housing
11) Remove the housing and the shaft in order to open the transmission box using the crowbar
11) Beware of the different driveshaft washers
Now that everything is open, remove everything that comes to hand and remember to identify the location of each washer present.
11) Remove the two axles from the transmission. To check the condition of the sprockets, just do a visual check.
To remove the axes, there is nothing very complicated. Provide yourself with a mallet or a hammer and a block of wood (not to damage the threads).
11)Install the new transmission. Hit with the mallet to position it correctly.
To reassemble its secondary transmission, just start par the bearings and oil seals. The bearings put in the freezer and the heated casings facilitate the operation. Oil seals can be fitted afterwards.
Refit all sprockets, axles and washers to their respective locations. the thinner and domed one fits first on the primary pinion (domed side against the pinion) and the other washer is positioned second
11) Position the new transmission case gasket.
11) Replace shaft and housing
11) Retighten transmission cover screws. Do not forget to pass the screws thread lock.
11) Replace the transmission case bleed plug
11) Fill up ontransmission oil
11) Replace the transmission reservoir cap
11) Position the hub and disc
11) Finish par the stirrup.
11) Tighten wheel nuts and remove jack
11) Reassemble the exhaust pipe starting par the fitting on the cylinder
11) Reattach the pot mounting bracket
11) Retension the spring using a spring puller, screw the nuts of the pot
11) Replace the clutch by positioning the belt.
11) Place the bell
11) Tighten the nut with the impact wrench
11) Remove the piston lock
11) Replace the spark plug and the suppressor.
11) Replace the kickstarter housing.
Gear systems, the transmission allows the movement between the pinions and it is the last pinion which will drive the wheel.
On a scooter, there are two transmissions, the primary transmission and the secondary transmission. It is advisable to retrofit your scooter with the same transmission as the original one to maintain engine reliability.
