The homologated quad

A homologated quad will be authorized to circulate on public roads. A large number of quads are homologated whatever their category (utility, fighter, road and sometimes sports). However, to guarantee homologation, the quad must meet the following criteria:

- Curb weight less than 550 kg

- Power to the rear wheels less than 20 HP

- be fitted with front and rear indicators, a license plate, speedometer, headlights, mirrors and brake lights and front and rear foot braking

Like all other land vehicles, the quad is subject to insurance.

The unhomologated quad

Driving will only be on private land. The quad will have neither registration nor gray card. However, a declaration will be mandatory so that the vehicle obtains an identification number.
