brand SUZUKI

A little history on SUZUKI

SUZUKI is a Japanese brand founded in 1909. Initially the company produced automated looms. From 1937, the company diversified by developing a first prototype of 2 time engine and a car.

The first motorized bicycle engine is completed in 1951. It was a two-stroke 36 cm3 engine, and could be fitted to the frame of a bicycle with clamps. In June 1952, the first motorcycle Suzuki has been sold, referred to as " Power Free».

Thanks to this motorcycle and the lineup that goes with it, Suzuki can find a place on the commercial and sports scene. In 1954, the firm takes the name of " Suzuki Motors "and presents its first model car, the" Suzulight ", a mini-model of 360 cm3 which came out only 43 copies.

In 1955, Suzuki markets its first real motorcycle: the Colleda, moulted par a single cylinder of 90cm3. In 1956, the Colleda TT is equipped with a twin cylinder of 250 cm3.

In 1961, motorcycles Suzuki land in France.

From 1962, production will also diversify and Suzuki will be able to offer its customers not only motorcycles and automobiles, but also utility vehicles, boat engines and even prefabricated houses.

With an international reputation, Suzuki distributes its products in more than 200 countries and regions on all continents, especially in Europe, thanks to its automotive production site in Hungary

Today, Suzuki is, with Honda and Yamaha, one of the three largest manufacturers in the world. Like its competitors, its new challenge is now to find an alternative to thermal engines. Thus, the Suzuki of 2019 will they perhaps be the descendants of the current concept bike Crosscage or, more utilitarian, of the "concept scooter" Burgman H2.

The history of the origin and existence of the logo Suzuki shows how simple and concise it is to create something big. It is one of the few logos that has had a long history and remains unchanged.

The emblem Suzuki is a stylized “S” and next to the full company name. On cars, the metal letter is attached to the radiator grille and has no signature. The logo itself is made up of two colors: red and blue. These colors have their own symbolism. Red represents passion, tradition and integrity, while blue represents greatness and excellence. The logo first appeared in 1954. In 1958 it was first placed on a car Suzuki. That hasn't changed for many decades since.

In May 2022, when the company had just signed a contract renewal with the Championnat of the MotoGP World until 2026, Suzuki announces its early withdrawal at the end of 2022 from the competition (and all other competitions), due to lack of financial resources.
