PREPARE A QUAD FOR COMPETITION

In order to best prepare your quad for competition, here are some very useful tips for equipping your quad. Quad events Cross are open to licensed pilots Ufolep (The French Union of Secular Works of Physical Education), and the Motorcycle Sports License or the CASM (Certificate of Aptitude for Motorcycling Sport).

Security

Throughout the event, the quads must comply with the regulations. An official may carry out a new check at any time. A sound level meter can be checked at any time during the event. A quad that does not comply with the regulations will be stopped during the round:

- The circuit breaker is essential to stop the engine in the event of a fall, the quad must start immediately and stop as soon as the pin is pulled.

- The nerf bars play an important role in protecting the legs.

- The shoe is important in order to protect the other participants to prevent the chain from doing damage.

- The bumper is a chassis protection that protects the elements of the quad like the radiator, the headlights and against shocks. Both end caps must be rounded and capped to a minimum diameter of 15mm.

The Tyres

The tires are important on the quad. They are the only point of contact between the road and your vehicle. For the competition the tires so-called studded and chained are prohibited. The front or rear rims cannot exceed twelve inches in diameter.

It is important to choose your tires for competition, equipped with studs covering the tread as well as the shoulders. Their handling is excellent on dirt and gravel. It is important to properly equip your quad with good tires specific depending on the circuit. This will allow you to grab a few seconds. You will also gain stability when cornering, braking and better traction when accelerating.

With a few turns of the key, you can remove a metal tube at the outlet of the muffler, the baffle. Which will save you 2 to 5 horsepower and a few decibels. Note that the noise level of the exhaust during the competition must not be higher than 116 decibels + 2 maximum in acceleration.

If you're tempted par the exhaust changes, it is advisable to adjust your carburetion for better performance. Generally speaking, one must add 2 to 4 points to the idle jet and go up a size for the main jet. Associated with a good air filter to make your engine breathe in large. Proper maintenance of air filter will allow you to keep an engine and especially a piston in good condition!

THEEnduroblade of le Touquet


This race has taken place every year since 1975 on the Opal Coast, on the beaches of Touquet-Paris-Plage, Stella-Plage and Merlimont in Pas-de-Calais. It has now become the biggest enduro race in Europe and the longest sand race in the world. Since 1997, the day before the competition is held the Quaduropale. This quad race takes place under the same conditions as the enduropale, although the circuit is shorter: 550 quads set off on 13 kilometers of tracks.
