Following the FFM's statements concerning the ban on Tear-off in competition, how can you protect yourself effectively?
At the end of 2023, the FFM confirmed the ban on tear-off for the year 2024. Although the effectiveness of the product is not called into question, its environmental impact is highlighted. It must be admitted that the use of tear-off on the fields posed a serious concern. And all these small pieces of abandoned plastic required tedious collection or took on both visual and environmental pollution.
As of 2024, tear-offs are banned.
What solution is available to pilots?
- The teaar off remains tolerated provided that a system for recovering said plastic strips is installed. To date, only Progrip proposes this ingenious system.
- The roll-off can replace the tear-off system. It is a roll of film that comes on the mask. Par a pull system, the driver replaces the dirty film par a new one. A tutorial ofinstallation of a roll-off is available here.
